History and description

This cattle was born at the beginning of the year 2005 and it is specialized in the breeding of the most select Lusitanos, Spanish pure blood, Quarter Mile and Appaloosa specimens highlighting the qualities of the breed as well as the genetics. Through the selection of the best stallion and breeding mares,  it will be good to mention that besides using our horses as reproducers, it is dedicated an important effort to the acquisition of the semen from the best qualified horses in Portugal, Spain, United States and Colombia to cover our breeding mares.

The colts born in Yeguada Monserrate are raised in big fields that allow them to enjoy a great freedom through their first years, making them physically healthy and helping their genetic features to accentuate, which are complemented with an extensive training by the hand of a highly qualified staff. The characteristics of these surroundings offer each specimen the necessary freedom to develop their temper, resistance, shape and strength of their skeleton and their extremities.

Additionally, our teachings are directed to the idea that the horse can understand with its own logic, without pretending to force it to understand our own giving this practice the name of Passive or Natural Taming, in which no force or oblige is used for them to obey, only after the horse’s psychology, its feeling, acting and reacting. Only when this aspects are known we can accomplish the advantage of having the colt accept us as its leader and guide feeling safe and confident with our presence, therefore allowing us to raise with psychically healthy horses.
